Who We Are
Building Bridges to the Future of Law
Law, at its core, has never been an island. Every law, every case, every judicial decision is a direct reflection of the complexities of the human condition: our biology, our history, our society, and our deepest philosophical questions. Despite this, modern practice and teaching often treat law as an isolated continent, with its own language and rigid borders.
The platform "Law and Transdisciplinarity" was created to demolish these invisible boundaries. This project embodies its creator's enthusiasm for the intersection of knowledge—a legal professional convinced that the answers to the most complex legal dilemmas are rarely found solely in codes and case law.
Here, we function as a laboratory of ideas and a forum for debate, navigating the fascinating and indispensable intersections of law with a variety of disciplines. Together, we investigate, among other topics:
• Law and Medicine: How do bioethics, genetics, and advances in neuroscience challenge our traditional concepts of life, consent, and responsibility?
• Law and Sociology: How do social structures and inequalities impact the creation and application of law, and how does law, in turn, shape society?
• Law and Philosophy: What are the moral and ethical foundations of our legal system? How can we use philosophical thought to build a more solid justice system?
• Law and History: What does the study of the past teach us about the evolution of legal institutions and how to avoid repeating systemic errors?
Our Mission
Our mission is to foster richer, more contextualized, and, above all, more effective legal thought. We believe that by weaving this vast web of knowledge, we are not only enriching academic debate but also forging intellectual tools for a more conscious, humane legal practice that is prepared for the challenges of the future.
This is an open invitation to legal scholars seeking to expand their horizons. To physicians, sociologists, philosophers, linguists, historians, and all specialists who see their fields reflected in the mirror of the law.
Participate, collaborate, and ask questions. Together, let's build the bridges that the future of law demands.
